Rihanna’s wish has come to fruition. The R&B/pop superstar will perform a duet with Coldplay at the 2012 Grammy Awards.
Confirming the good news directly, the “We Found Love” hitmaker, who was nominated for four Grammys including album of the year for "Loud," tweeted to her followers, “#RihannaNavy My friends @ColdPlay and I will be sharing the stage for a performance at this years Annual Grammy Awards! #BONKERS.”
Prior to the confirmation, Rihanna voiced her feelings about wanting to perform the duet after working on "Princess of China," which is off the band’s latest album 'Mylo Xyloto.'
“I think Chris Martin is a special guy. His songwriting is just beautiful and I am a huge fan,” Rihanna told The Sun newspaper. “If they want me to sing with Coldplay, I will be waiting for the call. I'd love to perform with them.”
Previously, Coldplay’s Chris Martin praised Rihanna, calling her the “greatest singer in the world.”
