It has been some time since Carrie Underwood fans have gotten a chance listen to fresh new music from the former "American Idol" star. At long last, Underwood has finally revealed a new single for her next studio album, which has yet to be titled. Her new single, "Good Girl," she promises, will be an amazing work saying, "It will blow you guys away," according to a video message.
Underwood, 28, co-wrote the single with Chris DeStefano and Ashley Gorley. The two also co-wrote two other No. 1 hits for the star, "Don't Forget to Remember Me" and "All-American Girl."
"We went into the writing session thinking we need to write something that just kicks butt, " Underwood continued.
"Chris DeStefano, one of the writers is - I call him a little mad scientist on all of his Pro Tools stuff - he, like, plays every instrument you could possibly think of, and he, like, started makin' this track, and we started...we just went. It was fast. We wrote it fast, and it's just fun! It's upbeat, it's fun, you stomp your feet, and you can dance to it. It's got this really rockin' verse, and this really, like, rockin' country chorus. So, it's just a really cool song."
The record debuts on February 23, and will be followed by her new album later this spring, but if you can't wait that long, Carrie is scheduled to duet with Steven Tyler from Aerosmith on "CMT Crossroads" which will air on February 4.
