A.J. McLean was all dragged out, sporting a gaudy black dress and black and red pumps.
What possessed the Backstreet (ummph mmm) Boy to dress in drag, you wonder?
Apparently the pop sensation was doing it all in good cheer for his friend Tyler Shields, who photographed A.J. a few days prior to his December wedding last year. The photo will be featured in Shields' new exhibit at the Imitate Modern gallery in London.
Shields posted the photo on his website, along with this caption: "It takes a real man to be a [woman]!"
According to JustJared.com, Shields, who came up with the idea of shooting McLean in drag to commemorate A.J.'s union, had this to say:
"We always talked of doing something kinda crazy." It was a full-on production: A stylist got him the dress, and the shoes were custom-ordered. ("Like size 11 or 12," Shields remembers.)
"I wanted to take him to the dirtiest, grimiest place I possibly could," Shields says. "I made him walk down Skid Row in heels like that."
Shields also shot some sexy photos of Demi Lovato recently.
