Lil Wayne - Mirrors Feat. Bruno Mars

The video begins with a searching trek traversing the contours of Weezy’s tattoo covered body, giving an in-depth inspection of the multi-platinum recording artists’ artwork.

Wayne glamorizes his notorious affiliation with the Blood Gang as he makes references prevalent throughout the video; he throws the symbolic “b” sign up repeatedly and spray paints in red and also uses red paint in the music video, while wiping his mouth with a red bandana (a known emblem of the gang).

Enter Bruno Mars as the chorus rings in sporting an all black get-up right down to his token fedora and sunglasses.

It’s a somber reflection on the rapper’s life and insight to his future, as he even makes reference to his father saying, “Looking at me now I can see my past, damn – I look just like my f---king dad.” In a CBS interview with Katie Couric Wayne said, “my father is living and he's not in my life and he's never been in my life.”

After the bridge, Wayne motions an imaginary gun towards his head and pulls the trigger. At age 13, he accidentally shot himself with a 9 mm handgun, and off-duty police officer Robert Hoobler drove him to the hospital. True to life? You be the judge.

It’s a powerful video. Enjoy!
