Paul McCartney has personally paid tribute to the late Whitney Houston, who passed away suddenly at age 48. Two days after the songbird died in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the former Beatles legend was seen visiting the makeshift memorial created just outside the hotel.
The 69-year-old singer laid a bouquet of yellow roses at the scene. Joined by his wife Nancy Shevell, he payed is respect to the fallen musical angel, a testament to her affect on other musical geniuses. As he left the scene McCartney was also seen shaking hands with some of Houston's fans.
McCartney reportedly turned the focus back to Houston when some fans tried to praise his performance at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 12 night. According to TMZ, the "Yesterday" singer told them, "This is about Whitney, not me."
Houston passed away Saturday, February 11. Beverly Hills Police recently confirmed that she was found underwater and unconscious in the hotel's bathtub and unresponsive to life-saving measures performed on her. Her funeral will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey this coming Friday. Her body arrived at Whigham Funeral Home late Monday evening.
