After much speculation, a great deal of confusion, and circulating rumors, word on Justin Bieber's involvement in a Basketball movie, where he would co-star with Mark Wahlberg, has finally been confirmed.
In 2011, the talks began and much had remained inert on the subject, until now. Wahlberg has indicated that the project is currently in the writing stage and still underway.
Wahlberg told MTV, "We're waiting for the script." He added, "Waiting for the script. Every time I see [Bieber] or Scooter [Braun], I have to explain to them that it's a bit of a process having the script written."
"It certainly [has to be] something that's good enough to go and have green-lit and make right away...But I think it will be well worth the wait," Wahlberg continued.
The currently untitled Basketball movie is said to be in the setting of Martin Scorsese's 1986 pic, "The Color of Money". Bieber will be the protege of a former hipster, played by Wahlberg.
Last December, Wahlberg intimated how he came to tap Justin, saying, "I'm pretty intuitive," he claimed. "I see the guy and spent time with him, and you see what he does and how he does it, and then you actually have a conversation with him, and it's there."
