Ricky Martin was all smiles at the Evita press conference Monday, March 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
Martin, who plays Che in the Broadway musical, co-stars with Michael Cerveris and Elena Roger.
“I get to feel many things. I can go from anger to love to uncertainty within 30 minutes of the show,” Martin told Advocate‘s April issue, which he covers.
“That’s amazing because that’s what my life has been about for the last three years – feeling,” he added. “Not sabotaging any kind of emotions. Letting everything just come through me and verbalize it. It’s a very spiritual exercise that I’ll do every night.”
Evita is a musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. The story focuses on the life of Argentine political leader Eva Perón, second wife of Argentine president Juan Perón.
