The video begins with Sara and Jon in a field with a single matured tree between them as they play the piano together. Next, we discover Jon, the pop rock singer-songwriter and pianist from Anderson, Indiana, making pancakes as he is captured on an old-time camera. There are also quick scenes of the two of them in a white convertible, laughing and enjoying each other, presumably in the past as the camera from earlier and the coloration and quality suggests the same.
Just as the first words of the chorus are uttered, that is, "Summer is over," we see tons of leaves falling off the tree (which appropriately would suggest fall is here) in a magnificent display. From a conceptual point-of-view alone, this video, directed by Robby Starbuck, has appeal.
The video, music, and lyrics highlight the transformation that can take place between two people in a relationship as time evolves!
