Maroon 5 Breaks Chart Record with Payphone

Grammy-winning Maroon 5 are not only dominating the charts, but also setting records while they’re at it. The band’s new single “Payphone” debuted at No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart, with nearly 500,000 downloads, which breaks the Black Eyed Peas’ previous record for digital sales by a group.

The Wiz Khalifa-featured single is also No. 3 on the overall Hot 100 chart, following Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” and fun.’s “We Are Young.”

“Payphone” is the lead single off of Maroon 5’s upcoming album ‘Overexposed,’ due out on June 26th. The band is also gearing to release a special ‘Songs About Jane’ 10th Anniversary re-release on June 5th, which will feature unreleased demos, songs, videos & more.
