Carrie Underwood continues to blow away the competition on the charts as she tops the Billboard 200 albums chart again for the second consecutive week. Her ‘Blown Away’ album sold 118,274 copies in its second week of release, which is roughly half of her first-week sales of 267k. Nevertheless, the album has totaled 385k and continues well on its pace to being gold-certified.
In securing the No. 1 spot for her fourth studio album, the country superstar has managed to hold off British songstress Adele from dominating the charts yet again. Despite hanging strongly in the #2 position, Adele’s ‘21’ LP did manage to see an increase in sales of over 34% over Mother’s Day weekend with 103,303 copies sold, leading her to a total of 9.1 million copies.
