The search for America’s next music star continues in yet another music competition. The judges have been revealed for the upcoming reality show titled “The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep” to be aired on The CW Network, and they include Joe Jonas, rapper Nelly, Gloria Estefan, and John Rich.
The Hollywood Reporter informs that the judges will scour the country to find talent to represent their towns in front of a national audience. Mentoring is the trend in music competitions (i.e NBC’s “The Voice” and ABC’s “Duets”), but this completion differs in that the judges will live with the contestants for 3 days to devote themselves completely to helping the contestants.
Judge Joe Jonas tells Ryan Seacrest "I'm going to be living with them for 72 hours, I'm going to be spending time with their families, learning about them, say they flip burgers, I'm going to be flipping burgers with them, just so that its really hands-on so that I can really get to know this artist so that we can work together for this audition. It's going to be a lot of fun I am really looking forward to it."
“The Next” comes from the mind of actress/producer Queen Latifah, and is executive produced by Dave Broome and Shakim Compere.
