Country darling Taylor Swift has been honored with a special award for uplifting others through words and song.
According to Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services, Swift has received the 2012 Honorary Star of Compassion Award.
"Taylor Swift has inspired the small community of Northwest Tennessee with her uplifting words and music of encouragement and has become a positive role model for the young and old alike here," says Rob Adcock, Director of Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services. "It is with great honor and appreciation that we present this one of a kind, jeweled award to such an outstanding individual on behalf of our organization."
The Honorary Star of Compassion Award is given to an individual that represents the true essence of giving back to a community. An individual that bestows kindness and virtue, and has the characteristics of a true humanitarian.
Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services is run by volunteers who provide relief to victims of disasters. They also prepare people for emergencies.
