Goyte's touching single "Somebody That I Used To Know" leads Billboard's new Songs of the Summer chart.
Launched June 9, Songs of the Summer
is a weekly chart tracking the most popular songs of Summer 2012 based on actual performance on the Billboard Hot 100. It runs through September 6.
According to the BBC, Goyte's no.1 hit was almost scrapped after the Australia native "hit a brick wall" with the chorus.
"It was challenging to finish," Goyte said earlier this year. "I hit a brick wall after I hit the first chorus, and it took me a few weeks to decide if I should write the second verse from a female perspective."
The single has topped charts worldwide, including the Billboard Hot 100.
