Justin Bieber officially has the year's top selling debut on the Billboard 200.

The "Boyfriend" singer's anticipated album, "Believe," debuted atop the chart Wednesday with sales exceeding 300,000 copies.

His fourth no.1 charting effort overall, "Believe" sold a total of 374,000 copies which surpassed the year's previous record holder by over 10,000 copies. That record was previously held by Madonna, whose album "MDNA" debuted with 359,000 copies sold in March.

In related news, Kenny Chesney follows Bieber, with his latest effort, "Welcome to the Fishbowl," moving 193,000 copies to chart at no.2.

After a seven year hiatus, Fiona Apple debuted at no.3 with 72,000 copies of "The Idler Wheel is Wiser."
