Will.i.am is happy to have his first solo chart-topping single in the form of "This Is Love."
Claiming he knows people thought he could only achieve such a feat with the Black Eyed Peas, Will.i.am says "this means so much."
"I've had Number 1s before with the Black Eyed Peas, but to me this one means so much, because I know people thought I can only be successful in the Black Eyed Peas, they were wrong," he told the Official Charts Company. "With love and #willpower you can do anything and I love music... And this is love."
As previously reported, #willpower is Will.i.am's upcoming solo album featuring contributions from Swedish House Mafia's Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso and Eva Simons.
"This Is Love" sits atop the UK Singles Chart this week.
Will.i.am will also take the stage performing on America's Got Talent Tuesday, July 3.
