Did Adam Levine's ego go through the roof once "The Voice" (NBC) and the song "Moves Like Jagger" took off ?
According to Levine, that might not have been the case but he has been controlling and a little egotistical with Maroon 5 in the past.
"I used to be very controlling of the writing process before, but me checking my ego at the door has proved to be for the better," Levine tells Details. "Who we are is much more clear as a band now."
In related news, Levine has tapped R&B singer/actress Mary J. Blige to be part of his team when "The Voice" returns this Fall.
"I've always been a huge fan of Mary J. Blige," says Levine. "So it's been great having her on The Voice as an adviser to my team."
The "No More Drama" and "Living Proof" singer will help "Team Adam" with songs, vocals and more.
"I'm so happy to be working with him and his team," Blige told Rolling Stone.
"The Voice" returns Monday, September 10 on NBC.
