Why was Carly Rae Jepsen a no show at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Thursday ? Was she not confirmed to attend or perform at all ?
Nominated for Best New Artist, Jepsen was touted as being one of many celebrities that would descend upon the Staples Center for one of music's biggest nights.
According to a tweet from Jepsen, she was on her way to Paris instead of the VMAs Thursday.
"On the way to Paris! Can't wait to perform at NRJ! #CarlyChezCauet," wrote Jepsen.
That said, it looks like the "Call Me Maybe" singer chose Paris over the VMAs. Oh well, there is always next year.
We won't have to wait for her album though. "Kiss" is due September 18.
