Christina Aguilera's "Your Body" is a great lead single, but "The Voice" coach insists it's only one level of what you should expect on the album "Lotus."
Speaking out in a new video, Aguilera said doing "The Voice" inspired her to raise the bar.
"Doing the show I realized how many people truly do you know, get inspired to sing themselves and it takes it back to a place where I grew up listening to Whitney's records and Etta James and learning their ad libs and runs and dissecting it and wanting to better myself. So, I take it on as my own personality responsibility to keep that alive," says Aguilera.
Promising vocals from the start, Aguilera says "Lotus" had to be 100% Christina.
"It's one level of the record. It's a very multi dimensional record full of layers and love. There's a "Lotus" intro that sort of sets it all up and gives out the tone from the second you put on the record," Aguilera notes in video below. "The first thing you hear is vocals on the CD, which was very important coming off "The Voice."
