"I Knew You Were Trouble" is the latest single from pop/country superstar Taylor Swift, which is lifted from her forthcoming album, Red, due October 22. On the tune, the 22-year-old sings about an anonymous lover that broke her heart following a breakup.
"It's about, kind of, being frustrated with yourself because here you are heartbroken and you knew when you first saw that person, you saw all these red flags and you just went for it, anyway," Taylor previously stated. "[The] sounds just as chaotic as the feeling was when I wrote it."
Lyrics like this paints a vivid picture of her heartache: "I knew you were trouble when you walked in/ Shame on me now/ I flew me to places I'd never been/ So you put me down."
"I Knew You Were Trouble" is no. 1 on iTunes and Taylor tweeted a thank you to fans saying, "Thank you so much for the AMA nomination and for making I Knew You Were Trouble #1 on iTunes!!! That makes me so unbelievably happy."
