One Tree Hill star Jana Kramer is in the spotlight once again, but this time it's not for her acting. Signed as singer-songwriter to Warner Music Nashville, Kramer's debut single "Why Ya Wanna" is making history. Lifted from her debut self-titled album, the climbed to the No. 3 spot
MEDIABASE Country singles chart, making it the highest it the highest charting for any female’s
debut single has ever. The previous record was by Taylor Swift, who's debut single "Tim McGraw" peaked at #5.
“The fact
that we got to where we’re at has just been crazy. It just shows that
the Warner staff has been great. And Country radio embracing it the way
they have, I’m super thankful,” said Jana.
Jana Kramer garnered national attention in her role as Alex Dupre on WB's hit TV show One Tree Hill. In addition, she garnered three nominations for the upcoming Country Music Awards including Best New Artist, Best New Artist Single Of The Year and Best New Artist Video Of The Year. The award show will
broadcast live from Las Vegas on FOX December 10, 2012.
