We all know Taylor Swift is not one to hold in her thoughts when it comes to her former flames, but her 2013 Grammy performance still had viewers in shock, as many wondered if that would be enough to spark a response from her famous British ex Harry Styles. Well it was, and the One Direction member is not only responding to the diss but also opening up about the breakup for the first time.
Styles modestly opened up the Swift/Grammy controversy in a radio interview for London’s Capital FM on Sunday, February 17.
“I understand why people would want to know stuff like that I get it. If someone does stuff like that then I want to know about it too,” said the 19-year-old popstar. “I guess it just kind of…It is what it is, I guess. She’s a great performer and she always performs great. She’s always good on the stage. She’s been doing it a long time. She knows what she’s doing on stage. It was just another good Taylor Swift performance. It was good.”
The breakup is still fresh, as the two only ended their relationship early January 2013 and after the recent Grammy diss you would expect that their next encounter would be nothing be awkward, especially considering their next encounter is not too far off. The BRIT Awards is on February 20th and both entertainers will be present. Swift has been nominated for a BRIT award for best international female solo artist and One Direction is nominated for best British group. They both will also be performing that night at the 02 Arena for the award show. But Styles assured fans that the last thing on his mind is worry over running into his ex at the approaching Awards. “I’m not worried about seeing her at all,” he told Grazia. “She’s a sweet girl, you know, I don’t have a bad word to say about her.”
The only thing on Style’s mind is the big performance.
"I can't wait for the BRITs, we're going to be performing our Comic Relief single, so it's amazing to have such a big platform for that." said Styles.
